Emergency Medical Technician

Continuing Education

The Emergency Medical Technician program prepares students for entry-level work on an ambulance crew, in emergency departments, and in industrial or event medical settings. Students master patient assessment, basic life support skills, and EMS operations, then apply that knowledge during supervised clinical and field hours with a local EMS partner.

Instruction follows the National EMS Education Standards and prepares graduates to sit for the National Registry cognitive and psychomotor exams required for state EMT licensure. The certificate can be completed in a single term and is the required foundation for the program's Advanced EMT and Paramedic certificates.

Graduates are ready for employment as EMTs on ambulances, in emergency departments, at fire departments, and in event and industrial medical roles, and are positioned to continue directly into Advanced EMT or Paramedic training.
