Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

Continuing Education

The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician program builds directly on the Emergency Medical Technician certificate, adding intravenous and intraosseous access, advanced airway techniques, and an expanded medication formulary to the EMT scope of practice. Currently certified EMTs move into an expanded role capable of managing more complex medical and trauma emergencies in the field.

Instruction combines classroom and skills-lab work with supervised clinical hours alongside a licensed AEMT or paramedic preceptor, preparing graduates for the National Registry Advanced EMT certification exam.

Graduates step into an expanded EMS role with greater earning potential than the EMT level, and the certificate serves as a strong bridge for students planning to continue into the Paramedic program.
